Thibaw Palace is in Ratnagiri city is historical building . This historical palace built in 1910-11 by the british. This palace area is about 25803 Sq. Meter. When british bring the King Thiba from Bramahadesh, they shifted him in Ratnagiri and for the King Thiba the palace is built. Thiba king go to the palace for live in the year of 1911. After the death of king Thiba it will be taken by british again and it will be official of british officers. After the freedom, our governments 11 offices are live in this palace. The tomb of King Thiba is in the area of shivaji nagar in city. In 1962 , the separate residence is built for indian officers and after that government polytechnic is started in the Thiba palace. It will be shifted in separate place afterwords.

Today there is government polytechnic and boys hostel building in Thiba palace campus. Near the Thiba Palace there is Radio center is there you can see the Thiba point. Which is one the visitors attraction in Ratnagiri. Because of the nice site of sunset from this point in aribian sea.

This place is known as Thiba point, is at a considerable height from Sea level from where the small Rajiwada port can be seen. This place is famous for tourist to observe the beauty of Sunset. Near by, All India Radio Station Building and the Residence of District Collector is situated. The place is accessible by all types of conveyances.

One of the major attractions of Ratnagiri city situated on a small hillock. There is also a best sunset point from here. One can have a panoramic view of Someshwar creek, Bhatye bridge to pawas and Arabian sea. This palace was used for keeping the King Thibaw, last king of Burma (now Myanmar) under house arrest. Thibaw ruled the Burma for 6 years.
